Hike around Rattlesnake Lake

We are officially under a heat wave here in the Northwest!  The weather would of been considered a beautiful day down South.  It hit 90 degrees with absolutely no humidity. It is wonderful to experience a hot day vs. the cold rainy days we have had since we arrived here. The only downside is not having air conditioning.  We decided to take full advantage of the amazing day and wanted hit the trails and find a place to go hiking for the day.  With so many places to see and no experience hiking, we decided to stay close to home.  

We loaded the car and headed off to Rattlesnake Lake in North Bend (about 5 miles east of our house).   Our dogs, Maddy and Gracie accompanied us along with our friends that have also just moved here. We hiked around the lake which totaled about 2 miles in length.  It was a great small hike, considering it was a first for most of us.

We had a great time, the scenery was breathtaking and the mountain air  was refreshing.  We feel so blessed to have landed in such a serene, beautiful place.  It is hard to take all the scenery in.  Each time we venture out, we are always amazed at the natural beauty here in Washington.
